COMPOSITION IV (ADVANCED READING AND WRITING) is a sample advanced college-level multimodal reading and writing course. Subject matter includes: source documentation (in other disciplines), advanced argumentation (Toulminian and other), fallacy identification, advanced ornamentation, advanced analytical reading and writing, stylistics, advanced visual composition, and pre-professional discourse (In this course, less emphasis is given to grammar, punctuation, source documentation, general writing skills, and general reading skills, since a mandatory knowledge of these skills is required to complete the course). Recommended Materials: a competent rhetoric (addressing different argument organizations) and a competent handbook.
